To keep address space in active use and prevent prefixes from sitting idle while others who need them cannot get resources, we are adjusting the pricing of our RIPE IPv6 products and introducing a rebate based on how much of your prefix is actually in use.
Since we previously added the ability to manage your prefix directly from your service page, we are also removing the setup fee on these products.

Active Use Rebate
When your prefix is in use, part of your cost comes back as account credit. The rebate reflects your usage rate1.
Each period, you get back your monthly cost2 times your usage rate for that period3 (up to the size cap4), issued as credit5. With high usage, your effective cost can come down close to the old pricing. Once a service is in the rebate, you can see its usage rate over time on the service page.
When it takes effect
New orders use the new pricing right away.
Services already active before this change get a three month transition period. Their renewal invoices generated from October 1, 2026 use the new pricing, and once such a service has renewed at the new pricing, its usage rate begins to be measured for the rebate.
For how to register the blocks within your prefix, see our RIPE IPv6 Leasing Guidelines
Notes
1 Usage rate: the number of /48 blocks within your prefix registered as ASSIGNED, divided by the total number of /48 blocks the prefix contains.
2 Monthly cost: your subscription price converted to a monthly figure. Monthly x1, quarterly /3, semiannual /6, yearly /12, 2 years /24, 3 years /36.
3 Usage rate for the period: the average of the usage rate measured across that period.
4 Rebate cap by size: /44 up to 60%, /40 up to 50%, /36 up to 40%, /32 up to 35%.
5 Payout timing: for monthly subscriptions, credit is issued the day before the next invoice is generated. For all other terms, credit is issued every month.
